Over the past two weekends, the Charity Series of Poker (CSOP) has minted two new champs on opposite ends of the country.
On Saturday, the CSOP was at the 2020 Borgata Winter Poker Open and hosted Event #19: $220 Charity Series of Poker. It was a familiar face taking home the trophy as BorgataPoker.com sponsored pro Katie Stone emerged as the winner.
Stone took home a seat into the $3,500 WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open Championship, which is happening now, for her victory, along with a prestigious Borgata trophy to add to her mantle.
Kenneth Levine and John Yanni rounded out the top three finishers, receiving a $500 St. Jude CSOP Seat (to be held on April 4, at the Palms in Las Vegas) along with two nights hotel stay and $500 for travel. Tyler Patterson, Randall lee, and Philip Luelsdorff all took home a $500 St. Jude CSOP seat for their efforts as well.
Among those in attendance were DraftKings National Sports Betting Champion Randy Lee, Anthony Zinno, CSOP Founder Matt Stout, Faded Spade Founder Tom Wheaton, Tyler Patterson, Esther Taylor, and Tommy Bates.
The event benefitted St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

The weekend prior, the CSOP was at the Palms in Las Vegas for the “Slay Cancer with Poker” event, which raised more than $30,000 to benefit the Tyler Robinson Foundation (TRF), the nonprofit organization of the GRAMMY® Award-winning band Imagine Dragons dedicated to supporting children battling childhood cancer.
The event was emceed by comedian Joe Stapleton, while those who played in support of slaying cancer were Ben McKee of Imagine Dragons, “Truth Be Told” star Mekhi Phifer, horror icon Kane Hodder, poker superstar Daniel Negreanu, Austin 'Chumlee' Russell from Pawn Stars, Fernando Castro from “Legends in Concert” and Sean Walker from “FANTASY.”
In the end, it was John Bolton who walked away the winner for a $10,000 seat into the 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event. Additionally, Chumlee won a $1,000 cash bonus for being the chip leader at the end of registration. He donated the cash directly to TRF.
